In the past few days, a little unpleasant thing has been spread about climate change that disturbs society. That is, due to climate change, all people will have to eat feces and drink urine to survive. Will such a thing really happen in the future? Find out the facts. Let’s look at the claim first.
Claim: World Economic Forum (WEF) declares all humans have to eat faeces and drink urine to fight climate change.
and website article:
What do these posts say?
A July 17th Todd Micheal Pryill shared a Facebook video that World Economic Forum has announced a starting new initiative to eat feces and drink urine to combat climate change.
Also, in June 26 article from The People’s Voice was also claims the same incident. The article’s headline was “WEF declares humans must eat feces and drink urine to fight climate change”. The article was shared more than 100 times in two weeks.

What we found
The video and article are misleading. It creates a wrong image of the World Economic Forum. The WEF is a Swiss-based international organization created to engage “the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas,” according to its website.
USA Today reported WEF spokesperson Yann Zop says, “The World Economic Forum never made such a statement that ‘humans must eat feces and drink urine to fight climate change, These are false claims to discredit the important work that the World Economic Forum does on serious global challenges.” More can be read here
The comments on this misleading video show that people are unhappy with the WEF forum and mentioned that they should go away from WEF decisions. Accordingly, we see that this is work done to bring disrepute about the WEF.
However, we decided to look into this statement.
Poop as a food. Can it be real?
The article says, “human feces “biosolids” or something else is simply the next step in the progression of things. And the WEF have been intent for years on bringing human poop to the table. Japanese researchers were funded in 2012 to create a commercial product that the researchers were calling the Shit Burger.”
We discuss this with Dr. Saluka Jayakody (MBBS, Medicine). He stated “such a problem arises when the Earth’s self-sustaining organisms become extinct and few humans remain. Climate change has already become a serious threat to food production, but we have many ways to adapt it. sustainable farming is one way.”
A sustainable farming system doesn’t have to be only organic agriculture. There are more methods that overlap in many principles that are sustainable in the long run and may be 100 per cent organic or at least from the biggest part.
The following ten sustainable farming methods and practices are just a few examples of the many ways that we can achieve much more sustainable agriculture.

Dr,Jayakody further states, Humans need nutrients to meet their daily calorie requirement. However, animal poop is a digestive product containing very low nutrients which can’t fulfil the daily calorie requirement and also can leads to health issues. Exposure to animal feces has been associated with diarrhea, soil-transmitted helminth infection, trachoma, environmental enteric dysfunction, and growth faltering. Few studies have evaluated control measures, but interventions include hygiene promotion. Also, when there is a portion of food, the taste and smell should be liked, but it does not happen here.
The Harris-Benedict formula, which is one method used to estimate your basal metabolic rate (BMR). By definition, BMR is your rate of metabolism (the conversion of calories and oxygen to energy) at rest. It is the minimum level of energy required to sustain vital functions such as breathing, digestion, and circulation. It is depend on person’s weight, height, age, gender and activity level. You can calculate MBR through this.
According to the health hub guidelines, the recommended daily calorie requirement for an average man is 2,200 and 1,800 for an average women. Our body needs food to obtain energy, to get building blocks for our body, and to get substances that help control body processes.
When we go back to the misleading article it says, “In the near future beer will have an extra ingredient – our own urine.” Further explaining water unavailability due to climate change and WEF statements along with that. Here’s example;
“Obviously California is fully signed up to the globalist agenda, happily agreeing to drink their own urine to fight so-called climate change. WEF policies all have one thing in common: they dehumanize, degrade and mock us. They are designed to take away all of the joys of life and inflict maximum pain.”
It’s true that nowadays we have to face water crisis due to climate change and Unitied Nations reveal that, Only 0.5 per cent of water on Earth is useable and available freshwater.
Dr. Jayakody explains human usage of water is 1.5ml per kg per hour and we have more than 8 billion people on earth now. Over the past twenty years, terrestrial water storage, including soil moisture, snow and ice has dropped at a rate of 1 cm per year, with major ramifications for water security (WMO). However, still we have still we have mitigation measures for water usage nonetheless it is important to note that these recommendations need to be implemented immediately.
Water solutions
Wetlands serve as a buffer against extreme weather events (UNEP). They provide a natural shield against storm surges and absorb excess water and precipitation. Through the plants and microorganisms that they house, wetlands also provide water storage and purification.
Water supply and sanitation systems that can withstand climate change could save the lives of more than 360,000 infants every year (New Climate Economy report).
Climate-smart agriculture using drip irrigation and other means of using water more efficiently can help reduce demand on freshwater supplies (UNEP).
Conclusion
World Economic Forum does not says all humans have to eat feces and drink urine to fight climate change. It’s misleading information. However, when consider this statement it also reveal that, there are many alternative solutions and strategies being developed and implemented to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change rather than eating poop and drinking urine. These include transitioning to cleaner energy sources, improving water management and conservation, promoting sustainable food production, and fostering technological advancements. The focus is on finding sustainable and ethical ways to address the challenges posed by climate change without resorting to extreme measures such as consuming waste.
